Departmental Services
The department provides parasitic disease examinations by physicians at Phor Por Ror Building, 14th Floor, and offers parasitology laboratory testing services, with the parasitology laboratory organized as follows:

Parasitology Laboratory, Phor Por Ror Building, 6th Floor
Provides services for outpatients and health screening for international travel.

Provides services for inpatients and health screening programs.

Provides services using specialized techniques, including culture methods, special staining, immunological testing, and molecular biology testing.
Parasitological Diagnostic Services
Routine stool examination
Detection of filarial parasites in blood by Giemsa stain and DEC provocative test
Detection of malaria parasites in blood by Giemsa stain
Detection of Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) by Scotch tape method
Identification of parasites, such as worms and insects
Immunological Diagnostic Services
Antigen Detection Tests:
- Filaria-specific antigen
- E. histolytica antigen from pus or stool
- Giardia lamblia antigen
- ICT for malaria (Immunochromatographic test for malaria)
Antibody Detection Tests
- E. histolytica
- Toxoplasma IgG and IgM antibody
- Taenia solium IgG antibody
- IFA for Pneumocystis jirovecii
Special staining for protozoa detection
- Stain for Pneumocystis jiroveci
- Stain for Microsporidium
- Stain for Cryptosporidium, Cystoisospora, Isospora
- Agar plate culture for Strongyloides & hookworm
- Culture for E. histolytica/E. dispar, T. vaginalis
- Culture for Trichomonas vaginalis
- Culture for free-living amoebae
- PCR for malaria
- PCR for Pneumocystis jiroveci

Laboratory Standards
- Accredited as a Reference Laboratory in Clinical Microscopy by the Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health since January 31, 2010, to the present.
- Accredited for laboratory competence in accordance with ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15190:2003 standards since December 19, 2013, to the present.
- Certified by the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization) from December 12, 2017, to December 11, 2020.
- Accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand from February 15, 2019, to February 14, 2022.
- Certified for compliance with the Pathogens and Animal Toxins Act by the Department of Medical Sciences on January 14, 2021.
